Clayton Carmack

West Texas Planning

From Co-Owner, Clayton Carmack:

By the end of the month, I will be moving my family and myself down to Midland, Texas, to oversee and run the Permian/Delaware Basin operations. It has been a very tough decision as Williston, North Dakota, is very much home to us. John Lisle and I felt that we have enough confidence in our abilities, that we could split up the team and take over each district. We will still be meeting and talking regularly as we are still very much a team. The Delaware and Permian Basins has the potential to become a very large asset for S&B Drilling. It is important that one of the Co-Owners manages and is involved in the community as soon as possible.

One factor is this decision was that many of our clients in the Texas region noted that there is a huge lack of foundation services (concrete included). Clients that have traditionally always used concrete are now seeing that helical piers are not only a better structural idea but a cost-efficient idea too. When we look at the current rig count, the Permian and Delaware Basins are about ten times the size of the Bakken. Many of the clients that we serve in North Dakota are also in Texas and have asked us to come down and provide our quality expertise. We are excited about this next chapter in the growth of our company.

John Lisle honored in Williston's Top 20 Under 40

MARCH 2, 2018 - For the first time, the Williston Herald will honor 20 young professionals who contribute to our community in leadership, service, and achievements. Many submissions were given, but ultimately, 20 were chosen, and John Lisle was one among them. The selection committee looked for folks who went above and beyond in their efforts to make the community better. Further, the committee took into account both professional and personal achievements. Lisle joined the Army Reserves and was deployed to Iraq for 12 months. When he returned, he worked for the Houston Police Department as well as volunteered as a firefighter. He broke into the oilfield in 2013 and then helped start S&B Drilling with Clayton Carmack and Chris Carmack. He is an Ambassador for Veteran Outdoor Adventures North Dakota, which helps veterans through outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. Additionally, the company regularly sponsors various activities in the community, such as Lemonade Day, API Chili Cookoff, Festival of Trees, and many others.
